After a thorough kitchen remodel, this midcentury ranch is finally able to shine.
After many years spent living in the same house tucked away on a quiet, shaded street in northwest Portland, pastry chef Andrea Nicholas was ready for a change. She loved her neighborhood; however, her multi-level, 1970s home was impractical with young children. In addition, as a chef and someone who enjoys entertaining, the design of the residence just wasn’t working out.
Risa Boyer worked with Nicholas to design a kitchen space perfect for her. As a left-handed pastry chef, Nicholas knew how the space needed to be designed in order for her to move about in the most efficient way. The kitchen also features a great amount of natural light, windows with perfectly-framed views, ample workspace, and a clean look.
